After having my ka7-100 blow up, i'm looking to get a socket a board and a duron. My hardware is as follows: v3 2000 pci, ensoniq audiopci, usr 33.6 isa modem, 2 ide hdd's ata66, plextor plexwriter 8/4/32, and pc133 sdram. i need an isa slot for the modem (freebsd doesn't like pci modems much) so i was looking at the iwill kk266-r. Tom's hardware gave it a good review based on price/performance. I'm sort of apprehensive about going with an iwill board as i've never heard of them. So i'm soliciting advice on good boards for the duron, keeping in mind my hardware. thanks.

Assuming you don't want to buy DDR RAM, then yeah IWill's KK266 is the best KT133A option. It does have an ISA, and 5 (maybe 6) PCI slots. It is a great board, one of the best of it's class with Asus A7V133 (A7V133 doesn't have an ISA slot, it has AMR). I'd get a Duron 800 with a good HSF and then oc it to 1GHz.

I have the Iwill kk266 board. Will work nicely with what you have listed. Will have good opps for upgrades later. works well for oc'ing.
