Best bittorrent client?

I have been using Azureus for quite a while and it works well, but it eats soooooooo much memory. Is there anything thats more efficient? Maybe uses less than 700 mbs of memory when downloading one file?

I use Utorrent as well. I did use bitornado before, but it consumed 60% of my system memory with only 2 or 3 torrents going?@!?!?!?! Utorrent is well designed, got a good interface, extremely stable and doesn't use that much system resources.

another uTorrent bump, I ran ABC at first, was good. switched to Azureus, loved it but the memory usage is sick. uTorrent does it all. My torrent useage is like the Popeili Showtime Cooker. I set it and forget it. So I can't comment on any deep features, I just know it works for me 🙂

I use uTorrent myself, but its actually called MicroTorrent. There's a little tail on the u, which we don't have on our keyboards . . . well, easily accessible anyway.

Does uTorrent have packet encryption? My ISP blocks bittorrent traffic and Azureus only works for me if I enable encryption.

True, but how do you know people saying utorrent don't mean micro torrent since we just don't feel like typing it out or finding the micro symbol.

So what does everyone say in there minds, micro torrent or "you" torrent???

I say "you". I know it's micro but if I'm telling someone about it and they type it in Google, they'll still find it.

It's 'mu' torrent. It's the greek letter 'm', which can stand for micro, or about anything else that starts with an 'm'.

Oh, and I use Azureus. I don't like how muTorrent thinks it can dictate my download and upload speeds. I love Azureus, and I've got plenty of RAM. Why is it, actually, that people buy 2GB's or 4GB's of RAM and then complain when there is a program that actually uses it?

because it shouldn't HAVE to use it? as demonstrated by uTorrent (its not MyTorrent).

Edit:

Pronunciation

The author of the program remains undecided on how the application should be pronounced. Of the dozens of pronunciations suggested by users, the author has said he pronounces it "you-torrent" because it's simple, but has also, in the past, suggested "my-torrent," and "micro-torrent."[1] "Micro" above refers to the fact that the letter µ is also an SI prefix for one millionth as well as the fact that the application has a small size. One other accepted pronunciation is "mu-torrent" since this is how the greek letter "µ" is pronounced.

Edit 2:

HA!

Pressing the T-button on the keyboard when viewing the About subsection of Help will start a game with the same rules as Tetris called µTris, from beta 1.4.2 build 432 onwards. Pressing P will pause the game (in ver. 1.5.1 betas) or, if pressed before playing, pause at start.

Uh . . . you can set it for unlimited DL/UL speeds, allowing it to use whatever your pipe will allow. Any good BT client worth its salt will let you do this. 😛

azureus... its clean, sure it uses memory, but woopidedo, i don't really care as long as it doesn't consume a hundred megs, which it doesn't.
it has the mass number of options that I like... and i've used uTorrent, and i wasn't really a big fan of it.
