My current build is as follows:
Raidmax 750W PSU
ASUS P5KC
Intel Core 2 Duo (3.0, Conroe)
Patriot Sector 5 RAM (7-7-7-20 at 1333MHz)
Zotac Geforce GTX 470
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
I'm trying to figure out the best settings to use in the BIOS. With the simplest overclock I was able to push the 3.0 Core 2 Duo to 3.52MHz, but at times I think my RAM settings are lagging, wrong, or are causing a bottleneck for the CPU. Here are the BIOS settings as I see then in the "Advanced BIOS Options" section:
Jumperfree Configuration
AI Overclock Tuner: Manual
CPU Ratio Setting: 7.0
FSB Strap to North Bridge: Auto (with choices of 200, 266, 333, or 400MHz)
FSB Frequency: 500
PCI-E Fruency: 100
DRAM Frequency: DDR3-1201MHz
DRAM Command Rate: 1n (normally use 2n because 1n becomes unstable easily)
DRAM Timing Control(s):
CAS# Latency: 5
RAS# to CAS#: 6
RAS# Pre Time: 6
RAS# Act Time: 15
REF Cycle Time: Auto
WRITE Recovery Time: Auto
WRITE to READ Delay: Auto
READ TO PRE Time: Auto
DRAM Static Read Control: Auto
DRAM Static Write Control: Auto
Adjust CHA SKEW Support: Auto
Adjust CHB SKEW Support: Auto
Voltage Settings:
Transaction Booster: Auto
CPU Voltage: 1.450v
CPU PLL Voltage: Auto
FSB Termination Voltage: Auto
DRAM Voltage: Auto
NB Voltage: Auto
Clock Over-charging Voltage: Auto
Load-line Calibration: Auto
CPU GTL Voltage Reference: Auto
NB GTL Voltage Reference: Auto
CPU Spread Spectrum: Auto
PCI-E Spread Spectrum: Auto
Other CPU Settings:
CPU Ratio: 7.0
C1E Support: Auto
Max CPUID Limit: Auto
Vanderpool Technology: Auto
CPU TM Function: Auto
Execute Disable Bit: Auto
Just curious if I'm helping or hindering my performance because of my settings. Anyone have any suggestions about this board's BIOS settings and/or what I should change to increase any type of performance? Thanks in advance.
