You can get a Sharp 32" this week at Circuit City for $309. You could get something in the way of Sony or Panasonic at WalMart for under $400. Avoid the 4805 projector. In spite of what the advertiser says it may need a new bulb soon which may cost up to ~$350.

Looks like around $315 which is true, but in the meantime it will be amazing ;)

The Infocus 4805 has 854 x 480 resolution. You need a darkened room. You may see rainbows since it is a DLP projector. It's hard to beat the picture on a Sony CRT.

Edit: Forgot to mention that it has a MSRP of $799 new.

I had a 36" Wega and getting my old 4805 was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

I just wanted to point out another option the OP might not have thought of. All display technologies have their drawbacks. It is true that DLPs have rbe, but there are some pretty amazing gains to be had from going front projection as well.
