Best Battery Life?

I'm looking to purchase a new laptop under $1000 and battery life is very important. I am leaning towards the 600m because i heard the centrino yields great batt life? They can be had after rebates and such for around $900 i think. What else should i look at? I need atleast 1.6ghz (unless centrino), 256ram, dvd, 14"+ screen, and ability to accept dual batts...

any suggestions? THANKS
 
sounds like a good buy...i dont think any other centrino based laptops offer as much power for sub 1k as the D600.
 
if it's anything like the D600, around 3.5 hrs ... looks a bit low for a Centrino. But still pretty good compared to a lot of other ones
