Wilt created the modern game of basketball. He is the well from which all else has sprung. No other player before, or after, has impacted basketball in the magnitude that he did.
Is Jordan an extraordinary player? Hell yes. Sometimes when I watch him, I think that he cannot be human; that he must have bionic implants.
But, greatness goes beyond talent. It is a measure of the level of change caused by ones presence in the venture.
By that criteria, Chamberlain is, and always will be, the greatest whoever lived.
