Hello,

Looking to replace my 27inch Samsung with something more up to date. I am currently running an AMD ATI 290x 4gb.

Been looking at the 1440 and the free sync monitors but, having issues picking the right one based on reviews. I have also been debating on going to 32inch. I wouldn't mind more space. I play all sorts of games from shooters to strategy games, but not hard core enough to be competitive. I use my computer quite a bit so don't mind spending a bit more money to get the most out of what I have.

Current PC Games (Battlefield 4, Star Wars Battle Front, Witcher 3, Xcom 2)

Any suggestions? I would like to keep the price between $400 and $500 if possible. I guess I'm just looking for that sweet spot.

Thanks

If you're willing to spend a tiny bit more I'd recommend this 34" curved panel from HP http://www.microcenter.com/product/446529/ENVY34c_34_Curved_LED_Monitor. I picked one up last month and gaming is very good on it. I also spend most of my time on my pc and productivity is fantastic with the ultra wide screen. Finally I can get 3 windows side by side and my spreadsheets don't scroll off the screen like they did on my 27" 1200p screen.

Sadly my closest microcenter is sold out :(.

I did take a look at the HP monitors. But they are hard to find for a good price.

If you stretch your budget just a little you could get the ASUS MG279Q or the Acer XF270HU.
1440p, 144Hz, IPS, Freesync.

I have the BenQ 32 1440 monitor that I bottom fed and got from the factory refurb store for $343. (benqdirect) I drive it at work with the displayport driver of my Lenovo T450. My machine at home has a 6950 2G card. Reviews indicate that the lag is fine for games, and the colors and quality are beautiful. Asus makes another 32 1440 that is said to even solve any latency problems. You have to watch since they sell fast when available. Any issues with veritcal banding in the early units aren't showing themselves up on my machine. I run a plain grey background as a sanity check
