Westinghouse? Really? Aren't they the ones that inflate their specs to make them sound better than they actually are?

They advertised 1080p on their plasma TV's....yet it could only do 1024x768.

I'd stick with Samsung and Panasonic.

ok, seriously.. has Westinghouse been around for awhile? I have never heard of them or seen any reviews on their screens.

Syntax. I have two- a 42" in the living room and a 27" in the bedroom. Best LCD for your money available.

What are you guys going to show on the lcd tv's?

If it is presentation and clips of videos any will do basically.

The guys watching it probably won't be movie hardcore buffs anyway :p

I use my Westinghouse 32" LCD as a television connected to my HTPC with a DVI cable. My HTPC sets up the appropriate resolution of 1360x768. IIRC. No configuration required. Much better than any CRT I have owned. We watch movies, TV shows, etc, and the quality is great.

The Samsung and Panny's might have better ratings, but configuring them with an HTPC can be a nightmare. And in all honesty, the Samsungs looked better than the Westinghouse, side by side. But $2000 better? No way. Maybe $300 better at best.

Read the AVSForums... they talk about this stuff all the time.

BTW, I bought my Westinghouse at Best Buy, so they're not too obscure.

I just picked up a 20" Sharp from Costco. I only plan on using it for a few months and then returning it though. Does anyone know if Costco lets you return a TV after using it for a few months?

Edit: Forgot the price, $400.
