i havent kept with the times

and with the new apple products im wondering if i should sell my 2 dual procs (one is dual p3 800 with a vp6 mobo and the other is a dual p3 866 with a msi 694)

whats the best price/performance ratio for the newer dual procs?

If you want good value pick up an AMD dual MP on the cheap. Won't be the fastest, but if you beef up the ram it will do great.

are the amd mp the only smp chips from amd?

can the amd xp chips run smp?

what about intel?

can the p4 run smp?

xeons? and with what mobo?

XP chips can run smp if they are smp unlocked. Don't think p4s can do smp, but I am not an intel guy.

On another note if you are interested in a dual XP1800+ setup, I have one available in FS/FT.

Yes, your choices are Intel Xeons and AMD MP (or unlocked XP) cpus. My my calculations, the cheapest dual Xeons would be $226x2+$379 = $831, and the same speed AMD MP setup (not even the cheapest) would be dual 2.4's at $158x2 + $206 = $522. When you say price/perfomance, I think the AMD setup wins.
