Going to be running two GTX 460's overclocked @ 850mhz, + the overclock on my system isn't a typical overclock in that I had to lower default voltage on the 1055 by .25v to get it stable. With this new Gigabyte FXA-UD3 I'm able to shut off any kind of turbo so I might at some point be tempted to go as high as 1.4v and pull a constant 3.8 to 4ghz out of the chip which I know will add a decent amount of draw as well. From what I've gathered these GTX 460's are very power hungry when OC'd so I'm contemplating a 1000 watt PSU, but if I can minimize impact on the electric bill by going with a lesser PSU and still power these things I wouldn't be opposed. Just want to make sure 1000 watts isn't overkill.
I'm going to assume I'll need 1.87v on the new GTX 460 I purchase to reach 850 until I know differently. I currently have a 550watt Antc Basiq which I'm sad to report I've all to easily pushed to its limits. A 955 @ 4ghz + 460 made the PSU whine like it was about to explode. Naturally I'm not even close to tempted on pressing my luck overvolting the x6 on this PSU, and no way in hell am I going to add another GPU on it.
So what'll it be folks?? Are there any sub $50-$60 PSU's that rock the casaba? If not, what are my best options at around $100?
