Best bang for buck?

What on earth are you talking about? $1,799.99 for that laptop? You can get it for $1,374 from HP's website (which is $1,649.93 Canadian, if that's what Future Shop is going by).

Future Shop has the weight wrong, too. It's actually 9.3 lbs = 4.2 kg. It's an absurdly large laptop with terrible battery life. If you're looking for a desktop replacement to use in your hotel room, it's a decent laptop, but it's not very portable.

The only way I would get that laptop is if:
1) I wanted a desktop replacement that I wasn't going to actually carry around much (i.e. for use on business trips in my hotel room
2) I really wanted something with a numeric keypad
3) I didn't care about price

And I thought my 6.5 lb R50e thinkpad was overweight.

That thing would set the desk on fire. List what you need and your budget and we can see what we can find.
