Best backup software for home?

I have a 25TB HTPC/Media server (Win7 x64) and want to back up files from the 2 laptops, 2 PC's, iPads, phones, etc to it automatically. It has plenty of power to make it happen, I just need to know the best software solution to do so.

Anyone have any practical experience with this type of software? Do I need client versions for each individual PC to send to the server, or do I get the server to reach out and collect it?

One PC and one laptop use win7 x64, the other PC and laptop use win XP x86, I can wifi backup iPads and androids without an issue myself if I need to.

Just looking for an all-in-one solution if anyone knows one. Minimum work on my part once it's configured would be great. Set and forget is the goal.

Syncback offers scheduled syncing. Once you set it it can run automatically. Unsure if it does partition imaging if that's what you are looking for, this would be more of a folder solution.

Luckily for you, I just went through this same exercise last month. And I did end up liking and purchasing SyncBack SE. They have a 30-day trial, and also a free version.

What I really like about SyncBack SE -- aside from it generally being incredibly full-featured -- is that it allows me to have a backup set that is essentially a full backup and an incremental/differential backup all in one, thanks to the versioning feature.

Suppose you back up a set of folders to a drive. Then a month later you come back and want to update it. You can tell SyncBack to sync to the existing backup, and keep all files on the destination that have changed or been deleted. This way, the backup is always the most recent version, but if you screw something up and need an old version of a file, they're all archived.

It's a nice tool.

I use Nova Backup. I think I might have to contact their support eventually if I can't figure out how to boot Win PE with the rocketraid drivers so that it detects the drives. I rather figure this out on my own, but I do have free tech support from them as a purchase upgrade.

Good thing I had a bug with Firefox, forgot I didn't schedule the dailies, so Idecided to do a full disaster recovery test or I wouldn't have found out.

Inexpensive Lesson I got :) for my minor troubles: Always test your recovery options to make sure they work.

Not sure if this is a viable option, but you can get Crashplan installed on all of the devices (it can't backup the iOS devices, but you can view your files IIRC) and have them push their backups to your server.
