Can't define it that way. Got Goodyear Tripletreads today. Supposed to be the best all weather tire out there. Does that mean they make the best high speed tire? I don't think so. It depends on application.
For what type of vehicle? If averaged, how would you like to weight each type?Originally posted by: The Boss

No one on the planet makes better Off Road tires than Interco, and they are not even in your God Damn list.
I had Thornbirds on my truck until I pealed the tread of both the front tires. One tire went, I swapped to the spare, and 20 minutes later the other one went. Same thing that happened to the Firestone's. Mine still held air, the tread was just coming off in square foot chunks. Since I din't have another spare, I just said Fvck It and drove to where I was going, and swapped to come cheapies from Wallyworld. They got me to where I was going, although the cords were showing on the front driver's by the time I got there. Of course, I had a C range tire on a 8800 GVWR truck while towing a 7800 lb trailer at about 75, so I'm the dumbass. 😛
Anyway, Boggers > Thornbirds > TSLs >
In one trip, I had ~15% of the tread come off the passenger side front tire all at once, so I swapped to my spare. About 20 minutes later, I heard a "thunk thunk thunk" from the drivers side. One of the tread blocks had torn lose and was smacking on the ground every revolution. Since I didn't have another spare, I cut the block off with a hacksaw, and continued to my destination at much reduced speed. Along the way, about 80% of the tread came off that tire, usually flying behind the truck. I could see them in the rear view mirror, and feel every one. It also felt like I was drving on a washboard road because of the missing tread blocks.Originally posted by: Viperoni
You mean, in one trip, you literally either wore out or tore your tires to chunks?
