I've got an Epox 8KHA+ board and am waiting for the case to build this system... is the EPOX ATA100 RAID card good for striping or is promise still the king? Anybody got any reviews/links of ATA100 or ATA133 RAID cards that do 0 or striping? Also, I thought since upgrading the storage (the slowest most used component in the system) would be most cost efficent, roughly how much of a data read/write performance increase can I expect to see? Also WIN98SE doesn't support this correct? Only NT paltforms (ie NT4 or WIN2K or WINXP)? Thanks.

The new Promise TX2 cards, while more expensive, are probably the best choice. Since they are designed for 33mhz or 66mhz PCI slots, they can take very high PCI speeds without corrupting your HD data. This comes in very handy when FSB overclocking. They can be had for ~$75. :)

Since I'm thinking of getting a second 80GB Seagate Barracuda ATA IV ATA100 drive and I would like to stripe it... is this supported and is RAID 5 supported with just 3 drives and is it hot swappable? Promises data sheets don't explicitly say what levels of RAID are supported I'm going to guess just RAID 0 and RAID 1 and RAID 0+1... is this correct?
