what is the best app out there for running applications on, and administering, a remote machine...? i know there's pcanywhere and timbuktu, but they have a huge footprint and take a lot of overhead. then there's back orifice 2000, which has a nice small footprint but lacks some functionality... what i want to be able to do is access a machine on my home network from either a laptop on a remote network, or from my work machine, and be able to access files, run desktop apps, run network apps, and perform simple to relatively complex system tasks on the machine on my home network. all network apps i execute on my home machine should show *that* machine's network info (i.p. address, etc) and not be routed back through the client machine i am using to access it from... know what i mean..? (for example, if i'm at work in, say, the 155.x.x.x domain, and my home network is 243.x.x.x and i use the 155 machine to run an irc client that is installed on the 243 machine, the network info for the irc connection should show it as originating from the 243 domain, and not 155). the home machine will be running either 2kpro or 2kadv-srv... thanks for any help or suggestions...
