Another very happy Inocoluate IT PE user here. It's by far the most unintrusive AV program out of all of them and best of all it's completely free (don't let that throw you, it's fully functional and has no nag-screens and it's virus signature file is updated almost everyday). It has never let a virus through yet... Highly Recommended!
EDIT: I have not tried InoculateIT, but here are a couple of quotes from the Winmag shootout:
InoculateIT was the second worst at finding viruses, catching only 90.7% of them.
Not surprisingly, InoculateIT has no provisions to check for downloaded or emailed viruses, and thus it let them come through without complaint. Executable viruses were caught when they were saved to the hard drive as files, but ZIP files weren't. Script viruses that can email themselves weren't caught even when they were running.
I think Norton is the best, Mcafee VirusScan and Inoculate IT closely behind, Trend Antivirus are third (they actually have a free web-based scanner you could use, assume that you have T1 or DSL connection)
I've seen just the AntiVirus program CD at PC store checkouts for $10 - kind of like an OEM version. And you probably don't need all that other Norton stuff like Norton Utilities or Norton Clean Sweep.
I'm using Innoculate in W2k. I'm pretty sure that Trend is the ONLY Windows 2000 certified virus scanner!
I've used Trend PC-Cillin for years and it has never missed a virus in Win '98.
If you are interested in Norton look around the auctions. I latched on to Norton Professional 2000 OEM for $28 shipped. It has AV, Ghost, Utilities and more.
