Best (and Quietest) CPU FAN

I'm sure this has been answered here before, but I can't find it.

I'm going to install an SKL900 on my AMD 2200+, but I'm not sure what kind of fan to mount on it. I was looking and the the lowest db rating on an 80mm fan was 25.. There are just too many options...

If anyone wants to share their favorite picks .. please do.

Being as you're buying an SLK-900, why are you looking at 80mm fans? Go buy a nice quiet 92mm.

Zalman 7000Cu is quiet and efficient.

Can you mount that fan on the SLK900? Or is the Zalaman a stand alone Fan/Heat sink combo?

Also, I read a review that said that the Zalaman 7000 cooler is not suitable for AMD processors. Is this true?

Zalman heatsinks consists of a heatsink and fan combo along with a rpm controler for the fan

the reason they are not exactly suitable for amd processors is because their weight exceeds AMD's recomendations on heatsinks, so if you are unlucky the socket could fall off the motherboard if you are moving your computer. Alot of people have this heatsink though and I have never heard of anyone having problems with it.

I'm not sure I've seen it used I think, might wanna check with zalman they should know for sure.

So, if I want to go with the SLK900, then I do not want to consider the Zalaman combo...

Hmmm.. so any recommendations on a 92mm fan for the SLK900 heatsink?

just go to svc.com and pick the fan with the lowest dba rating. the 92mm fans i use are the enermax adjustable fans. i don't remember their exact specs, but they are very quiet.
