Best AMD64 (754) Motherboard for SATA Raid

I was about ready to buy the Gigabyte board but I hear they have some pretty serious sata problems. I will have a 2x80 Maxtor array but was unsure which motherboard will give me the best performance.

Checkout the reviews of the Asus and Abit boards on HardOCP, they actually benchamrk SATA Hard Drive performance. That should give you some idea of what you're looking at.
