I have almost all the components to build another computer except a MB and processor. I want to get a good/cheap MB and CPU combo that uses pc133 memory since I have 128mb of it laying around. recomendations? I'd love support for XP processors. O/Cing isn't a must, but would be nice also.

if you want a fairly new/current mobo with pc133 ram your choice are pretty limited
ecs k7s5a
a7a266-e
if you want an integrated board(also new/current)
amptron 841XLM

or you can get a board based on the via kt133a chipsets (which i think was a great chipset, but its getting kinda old)
asus a7v133
iwill kk266
epox 8kta3

*** as a side note though.. none of the best boards support pc133 ram.... you are really limiting yourself if you only look at boards that will support your current ram

Thanks for the quick reply. I've seen alot of posts mentioning the ECS k7s5a. I'll probably get that since it is cheap and popular. Like I mentioned, I have most of the parts laying around and this would be the fourth computer in the house. All the others are 8kha+ or dragon+ systems. I guess I'll start looking to find deals on this board.

I have laying around:

Antec 830 case
15" monitor
32x CD-ROM
16X DVD
24x CDR
128MB pc133
32MB pc100
7 GB HD
mouse

Looks like I need a MB/CPU and video for a complate system I could dish out to someone in the family. Upgrade potential wouldn't matter too much. Everyone in the family uses a computer until it's past upgradable.

Boonesmi is right :
- KT 133 a is a really good chipset, kinda old, but some latest mobo support athlon XP and you could do good overclock.
- ECS k7s5a is cheap, good mobo, stable but no overclock.

yeah since you just gonna
gather up everything left in there
I think spend $52 for ECS is not bad,
infact you have DDR choice on the future
and it also support XP cpu.

kt133a is a good board on their time
like kt266a we have now. if you still have
one is good to keep it, but if you plan on
buying a new one you better go with the ecs

unless somebody give you the mobo or sell it
for cheaper than $50.
