Right now i have a Alpha Pal 8045 and im moving that to another system. I want to get the best heatsink that there is for overclocking a barton 2500+ it can be any price, take any size fan, and use the 4 holes if needed. W/C and phasechange cooling isnt an option right now.

I use the Thermalright SLK947-U and a 92mm Panaflo H1A @ 9V
The SLK947-U doesn't fit lots of boards though as it needs quite a bit of room around the CPU socket. It is a bolt on, not a clip. Thermalrights website says that it won't fit on the Abit NF7-S v2.0, but it does. It fits my NF7-S v2.0 and plenty others

The *best* AMD heatsink? Probably the Thermalright SP-97, which is much like the SLK-900 series except it also has three heatpipes. I have the Intel version, the SP-94, and is cools a 100% loaded CPU down to only 15 degrees above ambient with a Panaflo L1A. There are also fans of one of the Swiftech heatsinks, the MCX462-V (I think), but I don't know much about it.

I second the SP-97. Thermalright makes excellent heatsinks, if not one of the best.

I third the SP-97, it is an excellent choice for a top of the line HS, it looks very cool too with the heatpipes.

I've heard good things about the Thermalright SP-97 and Swiftech MXC462-V. I don't think you can go wrong with either one of those.

Thanks for all the replies. It looks like im getting the ThermalRight Sp-97 with a 92mm Tornado. Do you guys think it would be worth it for me to buy a tube of AS5 for $6 or should i just use what i have left of my AS3.

eh, for $6 Id go with the tube of AS5 for max possible performance but its up to you. And Id go with the 12gram tube which I just ordered yesterday since my small tube is nearly gone thanks to my 5950 Ultra and the 16 memory chips.
