I want to build a cheap system for sis however want to get best video and audio possible. I have looked around and can't find any reviews on what might be the best all in one board, must be stable, support an XP 1800 or 1900, have best sound and video in all in one format. I noticed a couple of boards that have unichrome IGP and 6 channel audio of various types, any sugestions and please include an explanation of your choice, Thanks.

Well you need to answer some questions before you can get the BEST board for her......

1. What do you mean by best video? Like for gaming or movies?
2. What do you mean by best sound???

Your 2 choices IMO are......

nForce2 IGP if you need a good all in 1 gaming system.
Best in that group is the Shuttle MN31N
It has the Soundstorm sound and if you use 2 slabs or Ram (dual Ch memory) the onboard video card will play games decently.

KM400 if you need more quality Mpeg decoder and watch movies
best in teh KM400 is the Biostar M7VIZ
It has the 6ch C-Media sound, UniChrome video (not great with games but great with Divx, dvd movies, etc...) also has TRUE Sata ports

Those are the 2 boards/chipsets you need to look at right now.

I'd be looking at KT400 mobos. The Abit VA10/11 and the Soltek are excellent examples of the breed. (11=with Firewire - hard to find). See the comparo of budget processors over on the Anandtech site with an eye to whether the new Duron Applebred 1600 might not be enough processor - save a few more $s to put into RAM and HD performance, where the most bang for the buck enhancements live.
. I can't see the Biostar version as they don't use the P4 aux power connector to power the CPU. With it you can probably get away with a good brand 250W PSU, without you'd probably want a 350W or so.

thanks for the input, no games video will be mainly for dvd, sound the same, so any decent 6 channel will do

Then get the Biostar M7VIZ Has the updated southbridge so you get SATA ports and is a very easy board to use. I have used this board 3 times now and had no problems.
