As you can clearly see, I only find 1 album godly enough to be "album of the decade"

Most significant for culture and art/influential

10's - Original Dixieland Jass Band (Only because it was the first recordings)
20's - Louis Armstrong's "hot" groups 78s.
30's - Duke Ellington's "3-minute masterpieces" 78s.
40's - Birth of the Cool - Miles Davis
50's - Kind of Blue - Miles Davis
60's - A Love Supreme - John Coltrane
70's - Headhunters - Herbie Hancock

I just like to give you Tool guys a hard time. 😛

Nobody will agree with my list, but I don't give a crap (plus this is really hard):

60's: The Stooges - self titled

70's: Misfits - Static Age (technically not fully released until much later, but I still think it counts). If that doesn't count then the Ramones' self titled LP.

80's: Bad Religion - Suffer but this is really tough because there is a tonne of iconic punk stuff in this decade (DKs, Minor Threat, Black Flag, etc., etc.)

90's: Jawbreaker - 24 Hour Revenge Therapy or Flaming Lips - Transmissions from the Satellite Heart

00's: Porcupine Tree - In Absentia or Deadwing or ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - Worlds Apart or So Divided (I love them both equally)

Good list. There's room for a lot of argument, but I can live with that :^)

70s The Wall, slipping in at the end of the decade to beat out DSotM, Abbey Road, Led Zeppelin IV, WYWH, Innervisions, Unknown Pleasures, Mothership Connection, and Aja. The Wall is best imeo, and is arguably best all time.
80s Appetite for Destruction. "..." for the 80s?!?! Are you kidding me?!?! AfD barely beats out: It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back, The Queen Is Dead, Bad Brains, Nothing's Shocking, Purple Rain, and Doolittle. Though G&R isn't my style any longer, it would be hard for me to say that AfD is not the definitive 80s album. ... for a decade filled with great music is so utterly ... I am at a loss for admonishment.
90s Undertow (sorry Aenima you are the new #2). This slips in past more albums that you can shake a stick at, but either Tool effort is so above and beyond the remainder of the decade, the choice is an easy one. Condolences to Rubbernecks, The Downward Spiral, OK Computer, Portishead, Transmissions from the Satellite Heart, and Pony express Record.
00s So far this is a two album race between LD50 and Frances the Mute.

I don't agree with your list, but total agreement on the best album each of a several decades would require... well we certainly don't share a brain. However, I love your list!

Canadians should be embarrassed that this is the band that represents them. sad. truly sad.

Well I'll say Dan Fogelberg and Simon/Garfunkel for the 60-70s... not sure about the exact albums since I have just the "Best of" now. 😛

Probably should try to find a way to get Chick Corea on there. Or Tyner.

Damn, there is such a huge quantity of brilliant music that people never hear or even know about. It is sad.

🙁 Oh we are, but not as embarrased as you both should be for misspelling it. It's "Nickelback".
