I was on excaliber PC and they have....
AIUHB:0247
AIUHB:301
AIUHB:302
AIUHB: 304.....
Which is the best for o/cing? And how easy (and safe for the CPU) is it to hit 2400+ speeds?
Thanks///

I can speak for the AIUHB 0302 , 2.2ghz here with a silent cooler :) (Zalman copper flower).
Not tried pushing too hard, Vcore of 1.775v, MSI K7N2 mainboard.

"i want my CPU to last @ least 2 years"

Are you kidding? :Q
In 2 years you'll want to toss a 2GHz out the window. :p

put it this way...

i have a tbred 1700+ b at 2300 (most people getting between 2100 - 2200)

people are getting 2100+ b's at 2300 (most people getting between 2200 - 2400)

i spent 60 bucks...

they spent 90 bucks...

is the extra 30 bucks worth it for 100 - 200 mhz more?

you do the math...

if you got money coming out your butt, might as well get an xp 3000+ or a 2500+

dunno why someone that doesn't $30 isn't much would even buy a 2100+ (besides the fact that it overclocks pretty well)

if money didn't matter to me, i'd get a 2500+ or even a 3000+ in a heart beat...

Corrected  Newegg OEM prices..

Athlon XP 1700+ Tbred (OEM) - $50 ------------OC ---------- $23.05/GHz
Athlon XP 2100+ Tbred (OEM) - $87 ------------OC ---------- $40.10/GHz
Athlon XP 2700+ (OEM) --------- $258-------------------------$118.90/GHz

OC your 1700+ to 2700+ speed (2.17 GHz) and you save about $208. :)

there are no guarantees that a 1700+ will hit 2.25... maybe 2.1 to 2.2 but not 2.25 for sure!

Just got an XP2100+ DUT3C AIUHB 0301MPMW
Retail from Googlegear, $94.50 Shipped UPS 2day (Shipping was supposedly free, I guess if the CPU cost $10 more than elsewhere then it wasn't. :D )

Ordered Sunday, Received today. So, 1 day order processing time.

Also ordered a Soltek SL-75MRN-L Nforce2 board to go with it. Nobody had the 8rda+ in stock when I ordered. Then I ended up buying the PNY TI4200 from BestBuy so I didn't need the onboard video at all. D'oh, coulda saved $30 on that, but, I got the 128MB version of the TI for $79, so, I'm still happy.

Well, 'nuff chatting. I will hopefully get a chance to try it out sometime tomorrow and let you know how well it goes at default voltage. Only have Crucial (512MB) 2100 Ram to test w/ so not expecting a lot. Anybody have any tips on OC'ing the ram to 166MHz FSB, not sure what I need to do there.

Well, the 2100+ I just got from Newegg was an 0247. Apparently no one who has one of those has posted here so I'll have my specs up in about 10 days. We'll see how it stacks up to its bookends (0246, 0248 seem to have done well for themselves but being the middle child could really suck...)
