Hello - I recently fried my video card (ATI Radeon X800 Pro); stupid mistake :(

anyway, what would be considered the best video card for under $300 currently? I play various games (World of Warcraft, FEAR, RTS's, etc.) as well as do video editing (Adobe Premier). I'm NOT interested in one of those "All in One" cards though.

ATI or nVidia; doesn't matter. Must be AGP.

So, please give your suggestions!

Thanks! Kevin

it's $299-$50MIR=$249 . . .

IF you happen to live NEAR a B&M Microcenter, you can save an Additional $50 . . .

, , , or does anyone care to link to the $199 ONline deal?

the x850xt-PE is the fastest AGP card. unfortunately it lacks SM3.0 . . . your other more modern cards would be the 6800Ultra/GT/GS . . . the 6800GS is ~$215.

There is also the [coming this month or next] x1700xt . . . we only know it will be an improvement over the [new 256bit] x1600xt [~$180]

the rebate online expired yesterday - and the price is still listed as $299; i guess you're even out the $50 rebate unless you live near one of their real stores? I should have just bought it last night online instead of waiting to see if the deal today was online too :(

And it looks like this deal is good thru 1/14/06 if you read the print at the top of this emailed ad. Text

I wish I had held off a couple more weeks and got it for $199.99 instead of $249.99 but I've probably had $50 of smiles in the last couple weeks so I'm still feeling pretty good about the whole experience.
