I'm looking to buy a new vid card right now just so I can play games requiring SM 3.0. Unfortunately I don't have $600+ to buy a new midline rig so I am just looking for a temporary solution.

Right now my current rig is:

P4 3.0GHz
1GB DDR RAM
1 X800 Pro
1 HDD
1 Audigy Sound Card
2 ROM Drives

My specs for my 350 Watt PSU are:

AC Input: 115/230V~,7A/4A, 50-60Hz

DC Output: +5V/25A, +12V/13A
-5V/0.6A, -12V/0.6A
+5VSB/2.0A, +3.3V/15A

Max Power Output: 350W

I'm curious what is the best AGP card I can get that my PSU can power? I'm not looking for anybody to do any extensive research. Just seeing if anybody can list anything off.

Thanks!

you already posted all this, you don't need to make a new thread...

even your current card is pushing it. you might be okay with a 4650 or 4670, but i would really recommend you invest at least a $30-40 psu. that oem unit in your machine was never intended to power a dedicated gpu. that P4 at full tilt cam consume about half your 12v power, leaving only about 7 amps to power all other 12v devices including your video card.

edit- agp, forgot, right. you're even more limited because a 3850 probably won't work and everything less isn't much of an upgrade. you really need to get about 200 bucks so you can upgrade your proc, mobo, memory, and psu.

Agree, though I'm not that knowledgeable on specific power consumptions of the P4, etc.

AGP cards on eBay are a ripoff. He's better off keeping watch in the FS forum.
