The best AGP card for gaming is going to equal whatever you can afford or are willing to spend. If you're willing to spend $200 bucks and no-more you're not going to get "the best", but you can find the best for your money. If price is no object, getting a GeForce 6800U is probably the way to go, but realize you will probably spend around $500 big ones for a single video card that will be outdated in a few months. Bang for buck, you're probably looking at anything from a $200 GeForce 6600GT, a $300 GeForce 6800 or a $400 GeForce 6800GT... it really boils down to how much you want to spend.

my 2 cents...the sweet spot, IMO, was and is the 6800gt for price and the performance. Although, I chose to go with the BFG 6800 ultra o/c due to the fact that i was able to get it from ..............shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (dell) nasty word? anyway, paid $419 about 6 weeks ago and that was very close to the same price that the gt's were going for. I have nothing to compare it to but it sure is sweet playing games. I am very happy with the selection, not to mention the lifetime warranty BFG provides (have heard excellent comments on their warranty work).

The ATI does perform well in benches, but I considered what I would of had to pay for those "wonderful" higher numbers. Would not have been a very practical nor logical chose for me. $100 maybe $200 more when you would not see any realtime advantage? Don't think so...
