My 9800pro is oficially dead. This system is going to my son when I upgrade to a c2d system so I don't mind spending the cash on a new card. The only requirement is it has hdtv out. I can't find any 7800gs cards that have that so these are my choices.

Are there any better choices?? Price doesnt really matter but I want to stay under $300.

Thanks for any info.

Hmm I would discard the X850Pro, sure its fast but personally I prefer features and IQ over raw speed, have you looked at any 7600GT? That would be perfect, very fast card for the money (almost as fast as stock 7800GS, except the 78GS overclocks like crazy) and there is probably a HDTV out vedrsin.

I've got an "HDTV Break-out Pod" and an S-Video cable from another videocard I can throw in with it. My PCI-E videocard came with this stuff but I can't see needing it as I'm not gonna be doing anything with HDTV for a long time.

I think I might wait for it. That will give this system a much longer life.

The X1650XT is almost every bit as fast as the 7600GT imo.

I would order a 7800gs right now if they had hdtv support. If they do its not listed like it is on the 7600 and ati cards.

If my ststem was near the HDTV. (and it's a Sony 40 inch crt that weighs 375 pounds) I would try it on my card.

Bump someone must know.

I found a XFX 7800gs that some sites say it supports hdtv but others say s-video only. I emailed them but no response yet.
