Best AGP card in the 100 to 200 dollar range?

I have a P4 3.2 and a gig of PC 3200 RAM with a 9700Pro and its just not cutting it anymore. The only game i play is DOD:S and on big maps like Kalt or Argentan, I average around 35 FPS and go as low as 17 to 20 during firefights.

I want to hold of on a new rig until vista comes out and was wondering if there is an AGP card that would offer a significant performance boost over the 9700Pro? I know it is a big range $100 to $200 but I want to see all of my options before forking over the money. Thanks.

I think the AGP flavor of the 6800GS is more than the $200 limit. I would suggest the 6600GT, but I would not consider it a "significant" improvement over the 9700PRO. It just depends on what your definition of "significant" is.

6800gs is like $199 AR at newegg which is a good card if you like pushing your max budget, the sapphire gto in agp is a good card also.

nothing really good under $200 since you already have 9700. If you had a PCIe board then there would be.

The OP is looking for an AGP card. The least expensive AGP 6800GS that I saw on Newegg was $209 before shipping.

As pointed out by Farfle, ZZF does have an AGP 6800GS card by BFG for $195 shipped. This would be an option if you want to go all the way to the top end of your budget.
