Best AGP card for games for $130-$150

So far I have looked at 9800pro, 6800XT and X700. But reviews for AGP cards are getting hard to find. What do you guys think ?

If you're willing to buy used, there are lots of 6800GT's available for $150ish these days...I just sold mine for around that. Should be a good amount faster than a 9800/x700 too.

Problem is, I am getting this for one of my sons friends, and he wants new, or at least warranty. I have too much money to burn, so I only check out the higher end cards, and I don't have a lot of time to research this, hence my post.

Thanks for the thought though.

One more problem. This needs to be before rebate, and under $150. He doesn;t have a charge card. And he stiffed me before, so I won't front it to him.

6600GT/6800XT within that range. i just bought a leadtek 6600GT AGP for $140 off newegg. should be here tomorrow.

6800GS/6800GT is slightly higher in price. im sure you can find a GS for sale somewhere, or a used GT on FS/FT...

the X800GTO is also a solid choice. not too sure about the X800XT/X850XT micro center rebate deals anymore...

Whats the difference between a 6800XT and a 6800 or 6800 NU ? In speed and performance ?

what cpu/ram? Honestly I LOVED my 6600GT w/ddr3.. it would have lived forever had I not basically snapped it in half. Crap, even my old 4800ti flies through half life 2 and cs source at 1280x1024..

He has an XP2400@stock, and currently a Radeon 8500. Apparantly its not cutting it, not sure what games. 512 meg memory.

And this one unlocks to 16 pipes. The Powercolor one doesn't.

That's if you're bothered about that.

TBH, I was pretty impressed with its performance with just the 12 pipes.

That will increase performance quite a bit if it works, which it most likely will... the Powercolor card has a lifetime warranty if you don't care about trying to unlock & overclock.

He could look for a used XFX 6800GT. They offer a double lifetime warranty, so he would receive a card that still has a lifetime warranty. I'd sell mine for ~$150, but I don't have the funds to buy a new card right now.
