I recall having a service that was a few bucks a month that would get me unlimited tows/rentals/jumps/etc, but I lost that information. Seeing as my factory warranty his coming up, I wanted to get something in place, just in case ... because rentals/tows are expensive, and a few bucks a month would be peace of mind.

That and my GF locks her keys in her car once/twice a year.

6 bucks a MO for AAA Plus service....

I almost got my car towed about 2 miles. They quoted me 75 bucks.

I managed to restart my car and bring it home. I promptly signed up for AAA plus. 75 bucks and I get 4 free tows up to 100 miles/year (the first of which I used the next day)

AAA is great.. once you're a member, you can always weasle tows.. Even if you don't pay your dues, they're like "Oh.. well now you're only entitled to a 5-mile tow."

EDIT: I only know this because I was once a college student.

Pretty cheap, guess I should just go with them? Any sort of 'deals' going on for this sort of thing?

IIRC they wanted $20 for one time initiation fee. 2 minutes of google and I found an $18 off offer.

I had AAA but now just use the service offered by my American Express card. I've only had to call them once but the service was fantastic and I wouldn't hesitate to use it again in a pinch.

AAA is like $75/yr for their plus service then I get around a $50 discount on my auto insurance for having AAA.

Plus, Vivi, if you get AAA and break down downtown or most of uptown, you'll get the pleasure of dealing with me and my company!! Well, that is if you're lucky enough to need service on Tuesday or Wednesday...

Edit: Check with your cell phone company and see if they offer roadside assistance. Most cell companies go through either CrossCountry or Signature. (Or just go ahead and get AAA. Motorclubs are a pain in the ass to deal with and they usually go straight to the end of the line real quick if we're busy.)

Hey, I always call bobby's for preference :).

One time the GF locked her keys in her car, while it was on .. and I had my spare back home, and a bobby's guy was driving by, and we flagged him down...he charged us, but man, we didn't even call, and he was there ;)

That call would have gotten a priority flag if it came in through AAA. You have no idea what kind of weird reasons I've seen for a priority flag. Vehicle running, dog/cat locked in, multiple children in car, handicapped person that got locked in while his driver went in a store... Everything.
