Hello,

There is a small chance that I mighe be able to upgrade my XP system to an A64 system within the next few days but I'm rather clueless about what to get that would be best for overclocking.

My current setup is:

Abit AN7
Mobile 2600+ @ 2.7Ghz 1.9Volts
1GB Corsair PC2700 ram soon to be replaced with this .
ATI X800 Pro.

I am watercooling and have my setup outside. Right now under full load my cpu temp is 64F, Iv seen it as low as 42F.....

I know I want to go with socket 939. I was thinking of getting the MSI Neo2 Platinum but I'v read a lot of people are having problems with them??? Then pair it up with a A64 3200+ or 3400+????

So going by what Newegg has in stock, just what board and A64 cpu should I get for the best overclocking with the ram and cooling I got? Is the Winchester core better then the newcastle core for overclocking?

Someone on here took the following setup to 300 FSB running 1:1.
3000+ Winchester (9x200 stock; overclocked from 1.8 GHz to 2.7 GHz)
Epox EP-9NDA3+ (this motherboard is a fair bit cheaper than the MSI at Newegg)
2x512MB G.skill PC4400 ($225 at Newegg, he said)

Edit: Yeah, that's the setup (down there).

I had a look at the Epox board but its $126 and the MSI is $145.....not that big of a differnece.

Nick1985: I see your using G.Skill PC4400 ram, at what timings? I dunno if the Corsair ram I have comeing will do 300Mhz anyways.. What kind of cooling do you have?

Anyone else? Id like to get a order placed tonight or tomorrow morning.
