Best A+ book and or software?

My employer wants me to get an A+ cert and it has been so long since I go my last one I need some help finding the best book and or software so I can study up.

Prepare yourself for a deluge of people saying the A+ cert is useless and that you should find another job.

Seriously though, I like my A+ All in One study guide. I haven't taken the cert test, but it seems to do a fairly good job at explaining the things that I don't have a good handle on, such as the particulars of laser printing.

You could also search on Amazon for highly reviewed books and pick on of them.

Try Michael Meyers (5th Edition) All In One A+ Certification. Used this at our local community college.

the reason for the influx of people saying the test is worthless is because we have it and have never had to use it once.

useless. tell your employer to enroll you in something more useful like a masters

A+ All-in-One Exam Guide, Sixth Edition, by Mike Meyers: link
PC Technician Street Smarts, by James Pyles: link

The Street Smarts book contains a bunch of A+-type labs that are useful if you want to actually DO what you read about.

People certainly have differing views on the value of the A+ Certification, but the fact is that today, some companys will not even grant an interview to potential candidates that do not have an A+.

I took the A+ last year and I'm glad I did. many of the jobs I apply for or am called about require the A+ cert due to government requirements.

I think I overstudied though. It was much easier than I though it would be.
