BEst 9700 Pro card? Memory type?

Depends what you're looking for.
The quietest would be the Saphire Atlantis, I have to think ATIs own retail is among the better built.

The one that I really look up to is the Hercules 9700 Pro but there is no way to get my hand on one in the US...it seems like...

Otherwise if your running stock I don't think their will be much performance difference from any of the cards.
