My 8800GT is currently idling at 50C at 700mhz and in load goes up to around 67C. To push a little more out of the card and to keep it cooler I would like to get an after market cooler. I've looked through many reviews and it seems Thermalright's HR-03 GT is the best one you can get, but i do remember a review (i think) of one that competed closely with it, if not beating it. I can't seem to find this review though. Anyways I wanted to hear real world advise and see what you guys thought. And if u do think the Thermalright HR-03 GT is the best, what fan should i put with it? Thanks for any help given =)

Most people recommend Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 as it's the one you are thinking of. There are a couple of threads with the exact same question and the recommendation is always Accelero and HR-03 because they are the best, however Accelero can be used to cool passively or you can strap on any fan for top-notch performance. Accelero is also cheaper, even if you factor in a 120mm fan.

Accelero S1, no doubt, since it's cheaper and works great with a silent 120 mm fan attached on it.

I'm using an S1 w/ a 120x38mm fan on it. Works great! Of course the fan attached is extra -- you're not really supposed to use it that way so get some zip ties.

HR03 GT works fine passive too but not as well as an accellero

Go for Acellero if you want cheap and great solution, best bang for buck

If you are having 50 idle 67 load, you wont see the biggest improvements compared to the people who could hit 90 load (like myself) on stock cooler. A cooler will not improve your overclock by much

If you want an HR03GT, get Ultra 120 wire clips so you can mount a 120mm fan to the HR. Otherwise you are limited to 92mm fans, or zipties. I've got a yate loon mounted to mine (upwards fashion) pull configuration. I did this so I could use an Audigy2 below.

So i think i'll go with an Acellero, but was wondering how people mounted the 120mm fan? does it come with clips? Also some advice / links to a recommended 120mm fan would also be nice =) Thanks for the help so far guys.

I've actually used normal electric wire to tie the fan onto the heatsink, on the opposed corners. But, yes, zipties are the most recommended.
You can use whatever fan you like, something around 1000-1200 rpm, so that it will be very silent.
