Best 80mm fan in my situation?

Well, I need the thing is, I need to get rid of about 176 cfm worth of intake vs 60 cfm exhaust. Placements won't be changed, so don't bother telling me about it 🙂.

Right now I have
6 intake (5 front, 1 side)
3 exhaust (1 top, 2 rear) (PSU doesn't count since it cools itself)

Difference: 116 cfm

So that means, I need to replace the fans, which I need help deciding... For me, I will also get an exhaust blower, taking away 42 cfm, leaving me with 72 cfm left over to even out the intake vs exhaust. If taking out the other two fans, I need 112 cfm... So what I thought for two fans

2 sunon 50 cfm fans
2 delta screamers
2 vantec tornados
2 YStech 52.8 cfm fans

Or what you guys think is the best fan in my situation. so which 80mm fan is the best?

First of all. You do not need that many fans. Secondly, you do not need that many fans.

What case do you have.

You obviously do not care for the health of your ear drums. /sarcasm

If I were in your shoes, I would remove all of those fans. Buy 4 Panaflo L1A. Install two on the back, Two in the front to cool your harddrives. Put a dust filter over the top Hole and forget about it. Put dust filters on all other intake holes.

Agreed, I'm surprised your not deaf.....

dust filter? WTF is a dust filter? Where might I procure one?

Well, why should I care??? I bought 25 dba coolermaster green LED ones in front 🙂 So they aren't really loud. Course, the generic ones I am trying to fix... Which are pretty much the exhaust... only my HSF is loud, at 48 dba, but its drowned out by my speakers 😀

CAN YOu HEAR ME NOW?[/horrible joke] seriously, you're gonna be deaf when you're older if you live with 116cfm - i think every 10 decibels the noise doubles in strength. computer fans are not like the equipment downstairs - the more you have doesn't make you more of a man, nor does it make things work better.

I'd prob. just replace all your fans with something lower RPM and quiet, and then the HSF, but that's just me.

I don't know what could give you good CFMs I more concentrate on making everything quieter.

Good luck 😛

replace them with vantec stealth fans.

cheapest I could find is from directron.

trust me your hearing will thank you.

I really don't mind the noise... All I need is some performance fans to get the difference between the 112 cfm difference to about 10 or 20 cfm. Thermaltake fans are all the same though, 73 cfm with 48.5 dba... yep...

I would sell all of your current fans. Then buy 5 Panaflo L1A's (YOu will make money on this as they are so cheap yet incredible). Put 2 as intake, 2 exhaust, and the last one as an exhaust at the top. Then with any extra money get a fan speed controller and turn the top off unless you really need it.

By putting that many fans in your copmuter you are doing nothing but creating a sort of vacuum. You are essentially starving your components (CPU) of air. You will notice no difference if you go back to 4 or 5 fans. THe only difference you will notice is maybe cooler CPU due to more air as well as A LOT less noise.

In all honesty, you do not need that enormous volume of air going through your case. My suggestion above will be enough to cool your components - and your temperatures will probably drop due to the balance of airflow.

Fan filters for intake, or otherwise empty fan holes in your case can be found here:
http://www.svc.com/filters.html

Panaflo L1A can be found here:
http://www.jab-tech.com/custom...&cat=79&page=1

If you are not convinced that less fans = better cooling, then by all means, you can buy 10 of these fans at a discounted price.

In the end, its your ears, and your money 😀 Please, think of the ears!

Can't I just find a way to even out it than get cheaper ones that don't carry as much air? Btw, thx for the dust filters... I might need those since my case is filling up with them.

What do you mean you dont like them. It is THE BEST out there.

Cheaper but much higher quality #1. And #2 you dont need that much air in your case. Listen to us. I have 4 Panaflo L1A's running at half speed in my system and a 92mm L1A on my CPU. My case and cpu are 20C and 40C under full load (S@H, Prime 95, and web apps all running at the same time). And it is wisper quiet (except my PSU).

If you want more air then a mdeium or high speed panaflo. But from my systems results up there it is obvious that you dont need them. Using that many fans chokes the air in the case so your CPU doesn't get much as it creates a mini vacuum. 5 Fans MAX is all anyone needs, any more is waste and probably doing more harm than good.

Yes, I am fully aware of that... That's why I am evening it out... 5 fans is enough, I know, but I want to not waste as many as possible, or sell as many (that I have now, which is all 9), cause my family doesn't really believe in giving away stuff unless its not needed for years. Selling them isn't a good idea for me either... So just trying to get rid of the generic ones is what I am trying.

If you'd like sounds of my computer, its not loud at all, its just the CPU that's loud
CPU HSF on low
CPU HSF on high

Btw, I found mechatronic fan's, they are more decent than the sunon ones...

53.6 cfm/39 dba
Mechatronics
50 cfm/40 dba
Sunon
