true... it seems to be very difficult to find the extreme overclocked versions of the gtx in stock anywhere. leadtek, asus top, evga ko... strange, considering they are quite expensive.

I've heard some people absolutely rave about their leadtek myvivo extremes but you just can't beat evga's warranty. It seems just incredible.

Anyone have any idea on leadtek's video card warranty?

i hate to make a decision based on a warranty, but evga does make it attractive. however, it doesnt mean anything to me if the card is defective...requiring alot of aggravation sending back etc.. ive read alot of posts about evgas needing an rma. on the other hand, ive heard nothing about leadteks having trouble. but, i suppose it could just be a matter of odds...maybe evga sells alot more cards. or..... bad quality control???? dunno...

The cards will be nearly identical, with perhaps the cooling method the only difference. The warranty will be the only significant difference between competing products. I would always buy from the company with the better warranty, because they are standing behind their product. Especially when you get a expensive component, you want a warranty to match the device.

Get the leadtek for 499, not only you get a pre OCed card that could possibly reach 520/1350, but also comes with the quadro cooler which is probably 2x better than the EVGAs KO cooling solution. Dont know about leadteks warranty though, but at the end of the day you cant go wrong with either cards.

And plus you get splinter cell chaos theory :) assuming you bought the leadtek one.

YEAH...

Leadteks got that awesome cooler...$500 Less than lifetime warranty

the evga is not the ko, but overclocked to 470 and has the ko cooler...$470 lifetime warranty.

XFX I think has a card with 490/1350 clock speeds?

Honestly, I think 7800GTX of any kind is a great card. Now lets say you get the $499 version. That's a lot of dough!. You can get a card 10-20% slower in evga 7800GT for $340 - $20 mail in rebate + free call of duty 2. I dont think 7800GTX is worth $150-$180 extra over 7800GT. You can probably overclock GT to reach 7800GTX's performance. Sure you can also overclock the 7800GTX, but is its performance increase worth an extra 50% increase in price?

my msi's are 450 (first one was 499 oem on first release) and they do 500/1300 together in SLi flawlessly with a reference cooler,.have for a couple months now without ever seein over 61c full load( 4 1/2 hours online quake4 hit that highest load),..

and i think these cards SLi'd will see more difference between gtx and gt when the new batch of cpu's hit
