Best 529 plan for future College for my daughter?

We are putting a few thousands of dollar into a 529 scholar plan for my daughter, so when she turns 18 and goes to college, she will be able to pay for pricate - Ivy league shools if she wants to.

Question is, which 529 plan should i choose?

in all honesty, i would check with who you have your insurance (auto & home) with. most major companies now have a great financial service.
Allstate i know has some great 529 plans that they will set up for you.
just a suggestion!

i was talking to fidelity, amex, but wanted to know with who you guys are doing it with?

i've never even heard of this 529 scholar plan, but i have 2 kids, and one on the way.. one of them is taken care of by his father (i'll soon be the step dad) and the other is mine. the one on the way is mine as well.. so what is this 529 stuff.. when should you start? how much should the initial investment be? i had calculated that $10/day for 15 years would end up to be about 54k without any sort of interest and stuff.. i mean it's obviously silly to just save up $10/day in cash, so are there other methods that people would recommend? why 529 plan as opposed to say... investments in a safe mutual fund or CD of some sort?
