Best 500GB option for dedicated torrentbox

I am replacing a full 80gb HD on my dedicated torrentbox. I'm thinking about getting a 500 GB drive because they seem to be the best value for the storage.

This comp runs 24/7 so I'm thinking about energy and wear here. I also want a quiet drive and fast read/write.

I'm wondering which drive would be better at having multiple torrents reading and writing at different spots simultaneously.

I'm considering these and need advice on how to narrow them down.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 (Perpendicular recording) ST3500630A 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive - OEM

The second one. But why are you choosing IDE? Do you have any SATA ports on your mobo that are available?

If you can get SATA I would use neither of the harddrives listed and get a 640AAKS

i choose ide because its an older computer and it lacks sata support. Now you guys got me thinking, my main rig uses IDE as well but i have sata drivers on board. I might actually replace those aging ide drives and drop in 2 of the WD 640AAKS mentioned above into my main rig. Then i would take my aging HDs and throw them in the seedbox until they die a natural death. That way it wouldent be a huge deal if one of those aging drives fails. It would be much less trouble than having it fail in my main rig without backup.
(these things are +5 years old).
Thanks for the suggestion BassBomb
Any other ideas?
