Best $50 speakers?

What speakers are the best for around $50? BTW I got a soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS.

if you want no frills 2 channels, see if you can find any retailer that carries Aura aspect30s. these are bar none best sounding sets as far as anything under $100 goes. i vaguely remember seeing these on digi-key and directron websites. good luck looking for them

Logitech Z-640 seems to be right around my bidget. Is this a good choice?

I've got the Logitech Z-640's and they're a great set of speakers for the price.

Depends on what you use it for, my vote goes to Logitech Z-3 if you don't mind spending more.

Just a note on the z-640's - the bass on them is very strong, even when it's turned all the way down. I will generally use the software equalizer that comes with the nForce2 drivers to turn the bass down even further, so that it doesn't fill the house with low-frequency sound. I'd imagine the Audigy 2 would have something similar with its drivers.

I did it . I bought some Logitech z-640s from Amazon for 49.99 shipped.

I have the Z-640'. They sound awesome. I will agree however that the subwoofer is extrmely powerful as it has no hole for air out. Highly reccomend them.

I have an Audigy2 ZS and Logitech Z-640 speakers...GREAT combination. Plus it has an adapter to let you hook it up to a DVD/VHS player with RCA audio connectors (just plug in the wires and press the matrix button on the center speaker).

You can buy wire extensions at Radio Shack for a few bucks a pop - my brother has a z-640 set hooked up to his TV 24/7, and we bought two 12' extensions for the front r/l speakers, and two 24' extensions for the rear r/l speakers. I think they're just RCA extension cables; they come in gray.

Oh yeah, if you get these or another 5.1 set, be sure to try out the DVD-Audio sampler disc that came with the Audigy2 ZS...the classical music sounds KILLER!

I'd say the z-640s are the best 5.1 $50 speakers available.
