I was going to upgrade my PC but I look at the cost of getting a new MB, CPU, and GPU's to drive a 2560 X 1400 monitor at high frame rate it just dosnt make sense to me.
So I Have some spare speakers and a AV receiver. and a XBOX 360

Figured it would make more sense to make the man cave I am making just for console gaming and media.

Problem is I don't know what to get that would work best for a console.
I had a plasma that lasted 6 years but I didn't use my counsel much for gaming just my PC.

dlp's are terrible for gaming, they have terrible input lag. i had a 50" one and would NOT recommend it for gaming at all.

the panasonic st50 is virtually lagless. it's an old model though and from what i think i remember hearing, the st60 (newer model) might actually introduce a little bit of lag. i did a ton of research on lagless panels because i'm big into fighters, and ended up with the st50 due to the input lag it had, and i couldn't be happier. it is a great all around tv in general though not just for gaming. there was another samsung that i was contemplating but ended going this route, but the samsung had very little input lag too.

My 58" dlp has no noticble input lag, gaming has been pretty flawless. It can vary from brand to brand and model to model.

That said its really going to come down to your budget and which activity you will do more: viewing media or gaming.

my dlp didn't have any "noticeable input lag" for me either, until i gamed on a display that didn't have lag. then when i went back, i couldnt even game on it. im not saying they are all like this, but that was just my experience with it.

Must just be your set. I've always read that DLP's were some of the best for gaming.
