Best 50-52 LCD/LED TV under $1,500?

I'm in the market for a new TV and would like some recommendations. It will be for my living room which has plenty of sunlight, so plasma is out of the question. I currently have a 46 in Sharp LCD that I've been very happy with for several years, but I'd like to move it into the bedroom.

I was looking at this 52 inch Sharp which seems like a good deal, but I'm a bit concerned about some of the reviews I've come across which state it has an issue with motion blur on fast moving scenes - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sharp+-+...2052&cp=1&lp=3

Was also looking at the Samsung's, but they have so many different models it's hard to know where to start.

I'm not interested in 3D. Having a wifi enabled set with apps would be cool, but my number one priority is picture quality. Thanks.

sunlight excuse is BS

You're saying that sunlight really doesn't cause problems on viewing this plasma? I've never had a plasma so I really don't know. I have read great things about the ST50, but would just hate to be unable to enjoy it during the day. How are plasmas (and the ST50 in particular) with fast moving scenes? I'd be watching a lot of sports on this set, so I want something that is good for that kind of programming. Thanks for your input!

Beat me to it. Love my G25 50" panny.

They do fine. Better than most LCDs for motion. You can get reflections off the glass, but I never minded it.

I would seriously consider this this option. The 2012 Pannys have a pretty good anti-glare treatment. Will it be good enough for a serious amount of light behind your viewing position? Who knows until you try.

One thing to consider is the inherent trade offs you'll have to make if you don't control the light. You can find LCD sets that have better anti-glare than the 2012 pannys but the matte finish comes at the expense of contrast. That's why many of the best LCD sets tend to have glossier screens than most low end sets (i.e. the manufacturers are trying to obtain the contrast ratios that make plasmas look so nice).

What I am saying is no display will look its best with lots of sunlight and that if pq is truly your main priority plasma is your best choice
