Thank you...
I only thought that if he could only go to 4X he may as well not spend the $$$ for the higher end cards.
He was trying to only spend $100 or so. I am drawing a blank on ti.

GeForce4Ti. How's that rock you've been living under for the last 3 years?
We really need a big sticky at the top of the Video forum that says "All 8X AGP video cards are backwards compatible to 4X speeds, and there is no performance difference between 4X and 8X AGP" in big letters. It's not as bad as it used to be, but this has still been asked a million times before.

for 100 dollars: ATI 9500 pro or ATI 9700 non-pro (very hard to find, check ebay).

A 9700 would be solid if you can find it for $100.

I will tell him...perhaps Saphire is still available. I wonder if a 9600 or 9600 Pro would be any good and is 128MB OK?
