I just recently got a p4 3.4 northwood SL793 and I need a new motherboard. I will eventually want to overclock so I want to get a board that will have all the options like vcore/vdimm voltage and agp lock. I also want dual channel. I had heard good things about epox and was considering this
Epox EP_4DA3I-3
I am open to suggestions and links would be appreciated I am looking for only reputable sellers like tigerdirect and newegg. I have read a lot of reviews but there could easily be something I am overlooking.
Thanks for the help

Abit IC7...if they still retail for over 80 I would get one off of the for sale forums....I think they were the best and I had tried a few....I had the bus all the way to 292fsb on my northwood....

I had heard they were good, but I thought I remembered reading something about the is7-v2 being bad and that is the only one I could find. I am also not really looking for a used mobo, but thanks for the suggestion.

Edit: I found out it is only single channel memory.

That is outrageous considering when I bought it brand new it didn't cost that much and I sold mine for like 65 bucks in december....Like I said find one used....Even the iC7-G if you can get it...

I will look around if you dont mind buying used....I know nothing of the later IS7 boards...I think the IA7 was good but really IC7 is like men playing with boys (not a Micheal jackson or catholic priest reference)...

IS7 was quite good. I tried one, and could VERY easily get 250FSB working on a P4 2.4Ghz, so it ran @ 3.0Ghz.

Very good motherboard. I liked it.

Dumpingoods has the regular ic7 for about $55 plus shipping refurbished (may not come with accessories). But I've never done business with them. Abit should honor any remaining warranty with this board, but may charge you an extra handling fee (about $25) to send it in directly to them.

Honestly I would rather deal with a member here with heatware refs then go through that place....I think you will get as much of a warranty if it is even left on a board I bought nearly 2 years ago...

I've purchased from them three times in the past. Only problem was a shipping delay on my first order because I accidentally put the wrong billing address for my credit card - and they actually telephoned me about that next business day instead of just dropping an email or waiting for me to call asking about the order. They seem to be somehow affiliated with Mwave.com because I distinctly remember on my last order the return label on the box said "Mwave.com" on it. Perhaps they are the clearance side of Mwave, kinda like an unholy alliance between Newegg refurbs and CompGeeks.
