Hi,

I'm looking to upgrade to an NForce2 400FSB board with System Utility Support.
I would like to get an 400GB board with onchip firewall but they never seem to be actually arriving :(
--and will most likely be too expensive to justify when they do finally arrive!

What do you suggest?
I do not need SATA drives as this needs to be a cheap upgrade, I have an XP3000/400 Barton arriving soon :)
Got for $80 :)

System upgrading from:

Xp 2400
Various DDR - plenty
2 x 80GB Maxtor ATA/133's
550w Antec true power
ATI 9700 Pro - might change but I'm not a gamer and like this one - My first ATI!
CD Burners etc....
All in a nice Lian Li case

NVids site show just these MB's?

There must be more available that these few?
I liked the look of the ABit NF7-S but was confused by the naming of the different boards any suggestions?
Do these support 400FSB?

Cheers,
JC9

I'm a little confused ABits site says only Version 2 supports FSB 400 but the one on NewEgg doesn't mention V2 but says it supports 400FSB. That Abit MB naming is the most confusing this I have ever seen!

Look here http://www.abit-usa.com/produc...gories=1&model=204

That is the junk NF7...here is the one you want and this is same one I linked to Newegg...

You will get the NF7-S v2.0 from Newegg...DO NOT GET the NF7-S2...two very different motherboards...

Thanks I see the "NF7-S v2.0" now on NewEgg :)
And it has free shipping too!

I tend to keep MB's for about 2 years - that should do it, it will be my first ABit MB. Have liked Asus MSI and Gigabyte, my fav so far is most likely MSI. Bear in mint this is not for OC'ing :)

Any ideas how long until the NF2 Ultra 400GB boards will be to market? I love the idea of the onchip firewall....
