Hi, searched in this forum as "best 4.1" but no result.

just got the Audigy 2 and the speaker i have is CreativeLabs FPS2000.

i want to see how big is the different with THX and without it.

so in my mind: Logitech Z560, Klipsch 4.1 promedia.

Ya, i just need 4.1, mostly for MP3 and games.

don't hit me for the repost.

you should find tons of reviews/rants in 'general hardware' as tons of people here own the z560s (including me), promedia's 4.1 or 5.1's, and the altec lansing 641's... of course you'll get mixed reviews as some people really love their speakers, but all of those are much better than your current speakers. since you have the audigy2 i recommend getting which ever you like most.

personally i think one should go and listen to each of them by going to the local compusa/bestbuy and taking what you like best. klipsch was out of my range and so my main decision was between the logitechs and the altecs; i chose the z560s cuz of the huge subwoofer was smaller than the 641's and i liked the control pod better.

i'm no audiophile but i do know that klipsch sounds better as you will pay much more for it... the z680s look intriguing as well for 5.1 sound and for about the same price as the klispsch 4.1s... but yeah, i think it's mostly up to you~

the nearest retail stores for those speakers for me is futureshop. all kind of low end speakers are put together. so i can't really hear the difference. also the room is too big(i put mine in a room not in a hall with like 20 feet tall).

oh ya, i don't see low power speakers support THX. what i mean is like speaker around 100w doesn't support THX.

like the one i have ~100w which pretty much filled my room. want to find something around that power so that i can save some money for next inventions.

I'm using the Z560 and it sounds good but if you have the money to spend, get a Klipsch Promedia 4.1 :)

The Klipsch Promedia 4.1's are the best sounding speakers I have ever heard. I am not talking just computer speakers, I am talking home theatre quality speakers that won't break the bank. When I don't listen to them for a while and listen to my other speakers, I am always amazed at how good these things sound. You want these speakers!

if you get the z560's, MAKE SURE you don't turn the volume up past about halfway in Windows. Use the knob on the control unit. I blew the fuse and had to get mine RMA'd, which took about 3 weeks too long. Logitech sent me a whole new set, since I sent them the tower and the power cord. I've still to put the sub to good use in my car. So for $10 shipping I have 4 spare satellites and a sub! Seriously, how do they make money?
