I'm trying to decide if I should buy a 360 in addition to my PS3. I know the current best exclusives (Halo, Mass Effect, Crackdown, etc.), but is there anything else coming out that would persuade me into getting one? I'm mostly into RPGs and Action/Adventure games, with some random shooters and racing games thrown in.

if you are mostly into rpg's and action/adventure games i'd stick w/the ps3.

ps3 imo has better single player experiences with action/adventure games. and on top of that you have a whole back catalog of ps2 games. this past 2 weeks i've picked up 4 ps2 games just to play some single player stuff on my ps3 since i've completed the other ps3 games i care about.

my 360 is pretty much used strictly for online gaming, and the single player parts of those games (halo, gears, cod4), but again, most of those games are not action/adventure games, they are FPS games where multiplayer is a huge part of the games.

i personally like forza better than gt, but i wouldn't jump to get a 360 just for that game as i'm not HUGE into racers, especially sim racers. PGR is a very solid series as well but again, i don't know if i'd jump the boat.

however i must say any game thats crossplatform i will get/play on the xbox360 because of Xbox Live, Achievements, and I like the controller better.

Dead Rising might be my favorite game on the console.

In the future, though, Ninja Gaiden 2 is coming if you're into that. GTA IV is supposed to have some kind of exclusive DLC or something? Other than that I can't think of any guaranteed exclusives coming soon - Alan Wake, Gears of War 2, and Fable 2 are all gray areas.

Upcoming games:

Lost Odyssey
Too Human
Ninja Gaiden 2
Halo Wars
Gears of War 2
Splinter Cell: Conviction
Fable 2
Banjo Kazooie 3
Alan Wake
+ too many XBL Arcade games to list

I expect more 2008 releases to be announced at the upcoming GDC. So, you may want to hold your decision until then to see what MS is offering.

You don't have to spend $400+ for a system and wireless adapter. You don't have to buy the MS wireless adapter as there are plenty of ethernet based game adapters that you can get for cheap plus plenty of DD-WRT compatible routers that you can use.

RPGs: Blue Dragon looks way too kid-oriented for me, and Etneral Sonata is supposed to be coming to the PS3 (this year?) with additional content.

Other than Mass Effect, PC & PS2 are still the best systems for RPGs.

I want to play Mass Effect, but I have enough unplayed PC, PS2 and PS3 ganes that I'm waiting for now.

If I can wait long enough I'll get the version after Falcon with a 65nm GPU and probably another price drop. Or Mass Effect will be announced for the PC.

Maybe I'm misinformed, but I've no idea PS3 has better/more RPG games.
Name those PS3 RPG games, will ya?

I love RPG games, and I really missed my PS2.

I've only played a handful of RPG on the Xbox 360: Enchanted Arms, Blue Dragon, Oblivion, Naruto
- would like to try: Mass Effect, Eternal Sonata

Enchanted Arms and Oblivion are also available for the PS3. But you're right, for the most part the PS3 doesn't have hardly any RPGs available as of yet. He may have been basing his comments off of how the PS2 dominated the RPG market.

Here's hoping FFXIII turns out to be good

Blue Dragon was a memorable one for me, pretty good RPG yes I agree it might be kind of kiddy for some but overall it had a great gameplay and decent storyline. Graphics were probably some of the best I've seen on the system. I hope they make more RPGs like that.
