This seems like the lost gap between lcd and plasma. it's gotta have at least 1280 x 768 resolution and a dvi connector. the sony wega xbr has dvi-hdtv but i dunno if that's compatible with a computer's dvi out.
 
gateway used to make those bigass 36" TV's that doubled as monitors. Friend had one, quality was fairly good.
