I'm trying to find a large monitor for every day computer use but do not want 2500x1600 resolution because it's too damn hard to see.

1920x1080 resolution is good it looks like 24 inch is the largest computer monitor you can buy in that res.

So it looks like if you want a monitor bigger than 24" you have to get a TV, I'm thinking 32". I've heard horror stories like DVI inputs that only do 720p on TV sets even though native res is higher.

Has anyone tried this?

I run 1920x1080 on my Samsung 46" just fine. Using a hdmi cable with a hdmi-dvi adapter at one end that plugs into the videocard. If you're getting a decent tv, not one of those noname 1080p sets you shouldn't have a problem with that dvi input problem. On the other hand, why not just use a hdmi cable with a hdmi-dvi adapter?

The Samsung 275T is a 1920x1200 27" monitor. Extreme Tech did a review and seemed to like it. However, it is a bit pricey. Newegg currently has it at $1,039.99.

What is you budget?

I had the 275T and sent it back. The input lag was too much for FPS games and it has the typical PVA gamma shift or whatever that defect is called.

I have a samsung 275t, and I like it. I bought a larger screen for the same reason - to see text more clearly at the native resolution, and I have not been disappointed. Also the color quality is great on this monitor, and the extra screen size makes games and movies more enjoyable. I'm not much into twitch shooters, but I do play FPS games like COD4 and TF2, and I don't notice the input lag.
