OK I've read through the sticky and done tons of googling, and can't find any good comparos. I want to buy a ~$300 netbook next week, and have pretty much figured out that my best choices are the EEE 1000HA, the MSI Wind U100, or AAO 10". I want one with a 6-cell battery and a keyboard that's easy to type on with medium-large hands. The specs seem very similar between the three (N270, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD). Is there anything I should be aware of before I pull the proverbial trigger on something in the next couple days?

Can't go wrong with a Asus Eee PC - all 27 versions of 'em! :D

I'm dual-booting a 1000HD with XP SP3 and Linux Mint 7 -- couldn't be happier!

For anyone else in a similar boat, If you need long battery life, I'd second the recommendation of the 1000HA as mentioned above w/ a 6-cell battery.

If you need faster wireless, slim/sleek size, and local availabity, the 1005HAB from BestBuy is pretty solid. I've played with several in-store and it's a solid value for $299 + tax. It's got 802.11n (vs. G on the older, larger HA) and a much better keyboard (IMO) than the older 1000-series models. Also has a slightly newer/better software bundle (EEE Vibe, Splendid, Docking etc). It only has a 3-cell battery, however, and does not come with Bluetooth or a carrying case.

You also cannot go wrong with either of the new Toshiba models, as you get the newer and slightly faster N280 CPU in both versions.

I've personallly got a 1000HE and I love it.
