First off, I have a AMD64 3200 that clocks to 2.7 stable with OCZ rev 2 platinum, *special thanks to Anandtech for the article about this Ram 5 months ago should it to be very good.

Anyway, as a musician, I have read conflicting reports, some that say you can put 4x512 modules in a Gigabyte K8NS Ultra 939 and be fine if you have an X2, I am not sure as Anandtech points out in their recent article about the X2 3800 that they had failure with any 4x512.

Now I know that this OCZ Rev 2 TCCD is great and TCCD is harder to find, but here are some other things that I have read. I have read that 1GB modules have more noise than the 512 so I probably won't reach as high a clock as 2.7 stable with 2x1GB modules however, as a musician and loading many music VST instruments that use a lot of memory, I need more memory while also keeping a nice overclock. According to Sisoft Sandra, my memory tests are still faster than the newest x2's out, my marks are somewhere in the 7000 mark, not at this computer so I can not look.

Anyway, was wondering what modules are out there that I could use in my Gigabyte board as 2x1GB and still get a decent clock, the next step would be to updgrade to X2, then probably another motherboard down the road as PCIexpress is still a bit problamtic for audio work as the AGP bus still seems to be the norm for audio/video use until PCIexpress Firewire and audio cards become more the norm. So on one hand, I may hold onto the OCZ, on the other, I might sell it.

Nevertheless, would appreciate some links to GREAT DDR in dual channel matching that I could get at least up to 2.6, or higher....with my timings....

Thanks.

As you have OCZ, i guess you don't mind spending a bit. Crucial 2x 1GB ballistix. They're PC4000, so you can overclock them nicely, and they appear to easily give 2-2-2-5 timings at ddr400+ (i can't remember how high it went in a few reveiws i've read, i think at least ddr430 with 2-2-2-5).

I don't think anyone can guarantee you'll overclock to 2.7 as before, as you could have had really lucky great overclocking examples of your OCZ RAM first time and then get some badly overclocking examples of the new RAM.

It's definately worth googling that ballistix stuff though. A X2 will probably be worth a good look too, they're very good CPUs (IMO)

hope that helps
